fair results 2010
I told y'all that I would update you on my fair entries. Well, I am finally getting around to it! I had put a baby quilt that I got fourth with and then I entered salsa, blackberry jelly, plum jelly, jalapeno pepper jelly but didn't place. There were so many entries and I was excited to do as well as I did. My spicy bread and butter pickles placed first overall!!! I was so excited about this. These are grandmas that I was competing against!

Panko - my new love!
I have found my new love - Panko! It is so wonderful and tasty. I first heard about it through The Pioneer Woman but then another friend made me fried pickles and I was hooked. I went and bought a couple of boxes and we made squash and sliced pickles. Oh my gracious! We are now wanting to have it quite often.
Just a few hints for when you make it, first, coat everything in flour, then an egg or egg/milk mixture and then the panko. We loved the fry daddy for this since you don't really have to flip it. Don't make this when you are hungry 'cause you will burn your mouth trying to eat it!

Garden 2010 Update
My dill, lettuce, squash, onion, zucchini, green beans and tomatoes.

I have tons on cucumber plants, 41 to be exact. I will be making lots of pickles this year and figuring out some new things to make with cucumbers! My bell pepper is getting so big! I also have jalapenos that are growing. They look like little Christmas lights! I am enjoying the growth of my gardening skills!

Garden 2010 update

This is what I took out to plant a week and a half ago. I was so excited to get them into the ground. I planted cucumbers, zucchini, green beans, tomatoes, jalapenos, bell peppers, romaine lettuce, dill, onions, cilantro, parsley, and basil. I think that is all!!!
Two rows of red onions and one row of yellow onions. I love to cook with them.
My roma tomato plant. You should see how much it has grown since!

Garden 2010
I have taken some time to make a garden this year again and started putting things together in my mind of what I wanted. And this is how far I have gotten.....
This is where my garden will be. I have stuff planted in the tubs and barrels and will get the Mister to till the rest up and I will be ready to go. And those cute little starts that you saw yesterday? Once this ground is tilled up, they will go into it to grow and give me lots of yummy veggies!
