Sasha is 2 years old!!!

So I was planning on doing this post last night but we didn't get home until late so here it is one day late! Sasha was born June 24, 2007 and I think that she was meant for me! I wanted a white female and she was the only white female that was born. I waited impatiently for her to get big enough to come home with me and drove them crazy with visits to see her. She finally got to come home and it has been an experience ever since! From the rabies scare, to Sasha not liking my liguistics class ( or text book! ), to someone being their nosy self and wanting to see what was in the bag on the table and ending up with a very messy floor, to seeing my girl hunting mice and catching them and everything in between, it has been so much fun. We are so lucky to have her and to have that endless love of a dog. She will get Frosty Paws for her and her sister tonight and them back to normal life and catching mice!!!

This is my baby now...
One of my favorite pictures of her.

She loves the boat

Just restin and chillin...

I promise I was just trying to help you mom!!!
They were dirty and they smelled sooooo good!

Sasha and Dad having a talk about fishing.

I promise I didn't do whatever it is that you think I did.

First night that I went into my kennel all by myself.

The first day that I was home.

5 1/2 weeks old and Momma is wanting me home!!!

Hello everyone!

I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything much and I will do better. We have been crazy busy around our house. Matt's grandfather was put in a nursing home on one side of the family and his great-grandmother that he/we have taken care of for around 10 years fell about three weeks ago and lay in the floor overnight. It has been a big mess, but long story short she is in a nursing home so we are going to see her quite often so I will ask forgiveness once again! I will do better.

I planted 5 cucumber seeds this year thinking that I would be lucky to have 2 come up. Guess how many came up????? ALL FIVE!!! I will have tons of cucumbers this year but that is okay! I am excited about having some fresh veggies to eat. I also have corn, sweet peppers, bell peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and some carrots thrown into the mix. I am thinking that I won't be doing the carrots next year or the lettuce or corn but some squash sure sounds good. I have gotten Matt to try it for the first time last year and now he loves it! So I guess that is something that I will have to plant next year. I am trying to figure out what to plant so any ideas would be wonderful!

It is hot around here. It is about 100 degrees!!!! This is way earlier than normal for it to get hot. We have been watering the garden constantly. It will pay off in the end.

I know that you probably get tired of hearing about my girls but Sasha the miniature schnauzer is such a doll. We have been having a mouse problem. The more that I talk to people I realize that it isn't just us, that it is everyone around this area. So a week and a half ago I decided to shampoo the carpets. Sasha had been going crazy over the couch and I soon found out why..... The mice had a trail that they ran and it was right under the couch. I flipped out and finally got Matt to tweak and set the traps that we had bought. We caught two within the first couple of hours and then one a day for the next few days. We are now up to 13 on our war against mice. But we have only caught 8, Sasha has caught the other five. Matt saw one had ran behind the cd case stand. He moved it and she ran in for the kill. Later that night Matt got up and Sasha had left a present for us in the middle of the kitchen floor..... A dead mouse. The last four that we have caught are babies, no longer than a inch and a half. I believe that everything is here for a reason but I don't like mice living in my house..... It is MY HOUSE!!!! I share it with my husband and two dogs, not mice. So we will get this problem taken care of!

I have been cooking with the crock pot quite a bit and I am thinking about taking a deer roast and slow cooking it all day and then pulling it apart and putting barbecue sauce and some liquid smoke, among other things, in it for sandwiches. Anyone else tried this? We try to find different ways to cook everything. Last night Matt made some steaks that he battered and fried but my stomach was in knots the last couple of days and was getting better last night but I didn't want to risk it so I will have them tonight. One of the girls here is talking about potato soup and I know it is summer but it sounds soooo good!

I just got a phone call from the hospital where my mom was at during her fight with breast cancer and I have found out a few promising things. My dad isn't signing the release of information so I can have the records.... I am very very hurt and irritated but this. It is nothing that will hurt him and something that will only help me. he has had the paperwork for almost 6 weeks and still has done nothing. I am about to scream. He says that I should have it by the end of the week. If this doesn't go through then I will have to sign an affidavit and the records can be sent to the doctors office who is doing the testing but the issue with that is that I will see him one time and one time only. I am just hoping that my dad will send the stuff to me so I don't have to go the other route.

To end on the upside I am getting off early today so I am going home to start moving things and rearranging how they are in the bedrooms. I may have to try and take some before and after pictures. We don't have closets, but we have shelves and places to hang things so it is interesting! I am betting that in the extra room I will find some little mice who have made a home in there! Hope your day is great!!

Look at what I am babysitting!!!

Meet Halle! She is 8 weeks old and doesn't even weigh 1 pound yet! She is soooo teeny tiny!

I think that she loves being photographed, it was just hard trying to get her to stay still!

Here is a picture to let you see how small she is next to me and the girls!

I know I have big feet but......

I get to have her for a week and am loving every minute of it! She has personality tonight! She is talking to us like crazy, which is typical for a schnauzer!!! I am going to go and check the kennel tonight. Having her around almost makes me want to get another puppy but then she grabbed hold of my shoes and bit me and I remembered how much those puppy teeth hurt and how glad I am that the girls have grown up! But one day I will want another little one!
Matt's great grandmother fell and we put her in the hospital and she is now in a nursing home. Hopefully she will stay there where people can take care of her. She is 93 and has lived a good life but it is so hard to see her go downhill like she has. That is why I haven't been on here much... Can't wait to get caught back up on everything!!!
